A Post, A Post, A Posty Ooooo

And there is my obscure Monty Python reference of the day. I hope you all enjoyed it.

I figure it's been long enough since my last update that I should let the World Wide Web know what I've been up to as of late. Today, I uploaded my latest project, a redesign of www.tracyscoggins.com, the official website for actress Tracy Scoggins. You may know her from Dynasty, Babylon 5, and Dante's Cove, among a throng of other things. It's been quite a pleasure to work on, and will continue to be, as there are still several things that need some fine tuning. Surpisingly, this was actually less involved than the Gotham Super Collectors Show project. For this design, I basically just turned this photograph into this:

You can play around the site by clicking here.

That's all for now. Let's see if it takes me another month before updating again.

Tis I, In Technicolor

Clearly, I was not aware of exactly what kind of undertaking it is to create and maintain a blog. Well, it's either that, or I have a remarkably uneventful life. I believe the safe bet is to go with the latter.

I have, however, been managing to keep myself busy with several freelance projects lately, including what may very well be my coolest project to date - brand new graphics for the official website of Michael Welch, an incredibly gifted young actor. I look forward the day he wins his Oscar, just so I can tell everyone that I did this project.

the most recent being a simple web design for the Gotham Super Collectors Show. The process was quite simple. After throwing together four potential themes/ideas, the client chose his favorite and we made some minor modifications. Here's a look at the original designs. We ended up going with design #2, which you can see in action at gothamnostalgiashows.com.

Now, I shall end with an open letter to eMusic:

I see you have once again offered me 75 free downloads to resubscribe to your very cheap service for as long as I please, even just a month. Thank you for giving me 105 songs for $10. It is very much appreciated. Don't ever change.

Musically yours,

ashhew

The Workout Regime Vs The Legion of Doom

I've recently endeavored on a new workout that involves 30 sit-ups and 30 push-ups three times a day, in addition to 30 minutes on the treadmill each morning and some random little exercises with 2lb hand weights from Wal-Mart. This is an effort to get my body into a shape other than "out of" and a tone something other than "deaf." It works quite well, when I remember to do it. The problem, however, lies in the fact that I would much rather catch up on Pushing Daisies or stumble around the internet.

I'm not an inactive person; I just don't do the things I used to do. I imagine the biggest change occurred sometime in my youth (my younger than 24 youth) when the friends I used to run around the neighborhood and shoot hoops with suddenly decided that they would rather read than play outside. Now, I'm all for expanding the mind, but when you're ten years old and it's a beautiful day in the middle of summer, when it's not too hot and the humidity is practically zero, and you just want to run around and stomp on potato bugs, to be denied that opportunity and be excluded because you haven't quite grown up yet is quite the blow.

Granted, I still haven't grown up just yet. Some days I would love nothing more than to run around outside and stomp on potato bugs, I just cannot motivate myself to do it. It's my biggest flaw, motivation. It's something that I hope this new workout regime helps me with. I've made charts and graphs and sheets full of little ticky boxes so that I can keep an avid record of my progress. I figure being able to view my work as some tangible may help me in the process.

This theory remains to be proven.

The Obligatory Introduction Post

Well, here it is. I have finally succumbed to much peer pressure (well, maybe a dollup of peer pressure, and much personal desire) and entered the world of the "blogosphere." I've long felt that I should have one of these, if only because I fail to remember every random happenstance that occurs, and that is something that niggles away at my core.

Anyway, my purpose here is to keep people who probably don't really care up to date on the events within my life ranging from my opinion on the best band no one's ever heard of to in dept theses on how McCain is the final cylon, and Obama will lead us all to Earth.

I've never been the best with introductions, so I suppose I'll leave you now with a peek my latest, not yet finished project:
